Wednesday Night Fire Causes $95,000 in Damages To Vacant Edgewood Ave Home

edgedwood-fire On November 2,2016 at 9:58 p.m The Racine Department, Racine Police Department and Racine Fire Bells responded to 1653 Edgewood Ave for a report of structure fire. The Racine Fire Department states that he attic of a vacant residence ignited causing a significant amount of fire damage through out the attic and collapsing a portion of the roof. Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire as neighbors exited their homes to safety. Afterwards firefighters checked for extension and We Energies had cut power to the home. The fire is under investigation. There is an estimated $95,000 in damages at this time.
