Racine County Sheriff-Hunter Safe After Being Lost In The Woods Wednesday Evening

RCSO On 11/02/16 at approximately 5 pm, the Racine County Communications Center received a phone call from a from a 64 year old male who became lost while hunting in the Hoosier Creek public hunting grounds south of Fischer Park in the Town of Burlington. The hunter was from Kenosha County and was hunting by himself.

Racine Sheriff’s Deputies, along with the Town of Burlington Fire Dept., responded to organize a search for the lost hunter. The Racine County Communications Center was able direct responding personnel to the general area of the lost party by pinging his cell phone. Sheriff’s Deputies found the lost hunter at approximately 6 pm by calling out to him and using their flashlights. The hunter was unharmed and escorted out of the woods without incident.
