Man charged in October 27th Marquette Street Shooting

trice Keeon X Trice, 21 of Racine has been charged with 1st Degree Reckless Injury-Use of a Dangerous Weapon and was given a $10,000 cash bond after appearing Wednesday November 2nd in Racine Circuit Courts

According to the criminal complaint, on October 27,2016 at 6:18 pm. Racine Police and the Racine Fire Department responded to the 1200 block Marquette for a weapons violation. Upon arrival officers located a victim suffering from a gunshot wound in front of 1215 Marquette Street. The victim suffered a gunshot wound that traveled through her arm into her side where the bullet became lodged near her spine. The victim was transported by Flight for Life to Frodert Hospital. Investigators on scene were notified that the defendant had been with the victim and two other parties at 1219 Marquette St and initial reports from the parties were inconsistent with evidence.

Investigators returned to search 1219 Marquette Street and discovered blood stains in a common area where one of the parties lived, upon search the residence they observed large blood stains on the carpeting along with a carpet cleaner and noticed an odor of cleaning products. Investigators also located blood stains in the bathroom sink and a gun case and ammunition according to the complaint.

The criminal complaint states that Investigators interviewed the parties and were told that the defendant had been playing around with the gun and it went off accidentally.
