13 year old arrested on multiple charges after Porcaro Ford burglary

lightUpdate-The 13-year-old male juvenile who was arrested on July 4th in connection with this burglary received medical treatment at a hospital. He suffered non-life threatening injuries upon crashing the stolen gray Ford Transit van on the night of the burglary to the Porcaro Ford car dealership in the Village of Mount Pleasant.

Then on 7/5/2016 this suspect was released from the hospital. He was transported to a secure juvenile detention facility in the City of Milwaukee where he is awaiting a court hearing in connection with a previous Burglary and other felony charges that occurred in Milwaukee County.

In addition to the stolen Ford Transit, two additional new vehicles were stolen from this dealership on that evening by 4 additional juvenile suspects. The suspects who drove those vehicles off the lot were spotted by Mount Pleasant officers however they were able to elude police upon fleeing officers on WB STH 20 in Mount Pleasant towards I-94. These two vehicles have not been recovered nor have the other suspects been identified as of this date. They are believed to be in the Milwaukee area.

The new vehicles stolen and not yet recovered are:
-White Ford Escape
– Gray Ford Escape
This burglary is actively being investigated by the Mount Pleasant Police Department. The juvenile that was taken into custody will be facing charges in this incident for:
 Burglary
 Operating Vehicle without Owner’s Consent
 Fleeing/ Eluding
 Reckless Endangerment
 Possession of Burglar tools

ORIGINAL PRESS RELEASE:

On Monday, July 4th, 2016, at 2:27 a.m., Mount Pleasant Police units were on patrol when they came across multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed. Some of the vehicles had no headlamps on. Mount Pleasant Police units attempted to stop the vehicles, but the vehicles fled from Officers leading them on a Pursuit. Due to the high rate of speed, reckless nature, with Public Safety in mind, Officers terminated the pursuit.
Following termination of the pursuit, Officers checked the last known destination for safety and came across one of the vehicles that had crashed into the median on State Highway 20/Washington Avenue west of West Road. Officers observed the crashed vehicle was on fire, and they extinguished this with equipment from their squad cars. During this contact, Officers took into custody a 13 year old Male operator of the stolen vehicle, who was trying to flee the scene. It was later discovered that the male and several other suspects had committed a Burglary at the Porcaro Ford Dealership located at 6001 Washington Avenue in the Village of Mount Pleasant. Substantial damage was done to the business and the suspects stole the vehicles and were fleeing the scene when Officers discovered them.
The Juvenile will not have his name released, but he was transported to the Wheaton Franciscan Emergency room for minor injuries from crashing the stolen vehicle. He faces numerous charges and subsequently he had an active capias for Burglary out of Milwaukee County.
