Ryan K Saylor 29 of Mount Pleasant has been charged with OWI (3rd). He was given a $250 cash bond along with a $2000 signature bond after making his Return on warrant/Initial appearance in Racine Courts Tuesday afternoon. According to inmate records a hold has been placed from the Wisconsin Department of Corrections.
According to the criminal complaint on June 19,2016 at aprox 4:04 p.m. Sturtevant Police were dispatched to the parking lot of Educators Credit Union for a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a car. While en route SPD was advised that the defendant had struck a Mount Pleasant Police Sqaud. Upon arrival other officers were speaking to the defendant who allegedly told officers that he was sorry for striking the squad saying he went to brake but his foot hit both the brake and gas pedals at the same time. Officers noted the explanation didn’t make sense and noticed the defendants speech was slurred and slow.
Officers took the defendant into custody after he failed the field sobriety tests. The victim was transported to Wheaton Franciscan for a legal blood draw. The results of the blood draw were obtained from the Wisconsin State Crime Lab on September 14,2016
The blood test results showed positive results for: Codeine, Morphine, Alprazolam, Diazepam, Nordiazepam, Oxazepam, and Temezepam
